IFTJ 2014 Features “In Other News” With 2 Quirky Jesuits

inothernewsIgnatian Solidarity Network will welcome In Other News to the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice this year.  In Other News with Br. Matt and Captain Louie is a radio show at Saint Louis University’s KLSU featuring two quirky Jesuits, Brother Matt Wooters and Captain Louie Hotop.

They scour the Internet for entertaining and offbeat news so that their listeners don’t have to; they hope to become the Ellen DeGeneres of small town radio. Amid the jokes, strange news, and all around witty banter they slip in subjects important to the Ignatian Family, providing a space for dialogue with their many guests about various topics including racial tensions, the purpose of higher education, and building relationships. This sweet and salty combination makes for an entertaining and informative show that is certain to trigger a laugh and, hopefully, spark a thought.

Throughout the Teach-In In Other News will be recording clips for upcoming shows on KLSU.

Louie Hotop S.J. is a student and a Jesuit at Saint Louis University, where he studies Philosophy and Russian. He is an advocate for all things poetry and all things obscure, he’s a proud fraternal twin, and son of Florissant, MO.

Matt Wooters S.J. is a DC native and proud alum of John Carroll University. After serving as a JV in Belize he joined the Society as a Jesuit Brother and is now working toward a masters in Social work at Saint Louis University. He is the third of four brothers and is often confused for Michael ‘Squints’ Palledorous from the movie “The Sandlot”.
