One Day: Poverty, Privilege & Solidarity
This weekend, my community members and I spent 24 hours on retreat as part of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Magis program through Loyola Chicago. Rooted in the values of spirituality, social justice, community, and simplicity that we all sought to foster as Jesuit Volunteers, our program allows us to continue living out the JVC mission as graduate students and interns at Catholic apostolates throughout Chicago.

Remember the UCA Martyrs: Speak out against violence and poverty
The UCA martyrs were targeted because they responded to God’s call to stand with the voiceless, the poor and the crucified in our world.

“Be Free to Love and Be Loved”
It is here we focus on a deep-rooted Jesuit ideal of “seeing God in all things.” This year the theme of the retreat was “Be free to love and be loved.”
