IGNATIAN SOLIDARITY NETWORK HONORED AS 2012 TOP-RATED NONPROFIT

Title Awarded Thanks to Positive Online Reviews from Engaged Individuals Across the U.S.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OHIO – The Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN) announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2012 Top-Rated Non-Profit Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2012 Nonprofit,” says Christopher Kerr, ISN executive director. “We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including our first-ever High School “Arrupe” Leadership Summit this past February, the Ignatian Immersion Experience Coordinator Summit in June, and the 15th annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice earlier this month.”

The 2012 Top-Rated Nonprofit List was based on the many positive reviews that ISN received via their GreatNonprofits organization page – reviews were written by faculty, staff, students, parish members, donors and board members.   For example, Michael Nuttall, a staff member at Santa Clara University wrote, “I consider the ISN on the forefront of utilizing social media and technology to connect people across great distances and keep engaged people informed of current [social justice] issues.”

Being on the 2012 Top-Rated List comes at an important time of the year, as donors look for causes to support during the holiday season.

“We are gratified by the Ignatian Solidarity Network for its work,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “They deserve to be discovered by more donors and volunteers who are looking for a great nonprofit to support.”

Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization.  The reviews by volunteers, clients and other donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit.  This award is a form of recognition by the community.
