Giving Tuesday – “I am a member of the Ignatian family”

  BY CHRIS KERRNovember 27, 2012

Ignatian Family:

“I am a member of the Ignatian family” – that was the phrase I emphasized each time I spoke to those in attendance at the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.  I wanted participants to know that we are all part of this national social justice network inspired by the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola.

In the midst of some very consumption-oriented days over the past week including “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” there has been a movement to place a greater emphasis on ‘giving’ as well.  Some have coined today GIVING TUESDAY!

I would like to invite you to make a “Giving Tuesday” gift of $5, $10, $25, or $50 – or more! – to support the work of the Ignatian Solidarity Network.  You can even make the gift in honor of someone as a holiday gift!

We have set a goal of $1,000 of Giving Tuesday supportby midnight Eastern Time.  We won’t be able to do this without the support of many members of the Ignatian family.  Can you help us reach this goal?  Every donation makes a difference!

Your gift will provide us with needed resources to continue facilitating programs like the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice and Arrupe Leaders Summit.  It will also support the work Kim, our interns, and myself do to further develop the networking toolsonline resources, and blogs that support your interests in working for social justice inspired by faith.

Thanks for your continued support!

Peace,

Christopher Kerr
