U.S. Catholic Bishops Respond to Recent Supreme Court Decision on Public Charge

The U.S. Catholic bishops have issued a statement in response to the Jan. 27 Supreme Court decision allowing the Trump Administration to implement its expanded public charge rule, which allows the denial of legal status or changes in legal status for immigrants using public benefits such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicare, or Federal public housing assistance.

Returned Immigrant Parents Welcomed by Loyola Marymount University Students

On Wednesday, January 22, 2020, nine parents separated from their children under President Trump’s zero-tolerance policy and then deported were reunited with their families at Los Angeles International Airport. A group of Loyola Marymount University students was there to welcome them.
