The campus bookstore at University of Dayton (Ohio) has become the Catholic Ethical Purchasing Alliance’s (CEPA) first official university partner. Their order includes socks made from “ReturnTex,” a yarn that is made from 100% recycled textile waste. The order highlights UD’s commitment to core values of Catholic Social Teaching—care for the inherent dignity of workers and the Earth.

The Catholic Ethical Purchasing Alliance (CEPA) is a project of the Ignatian Solidarity Network, Ethix Merch, Equal Exchange, and COLLECTION. The Alliance provides support to institutions seeking to integrate these values into their purchasing through educational resources, immersive formational opportunities, networking, and mentorship.
