Before 2022 ends, Congress has an opportunity to take legislative action to provide permanent security for the 800,000 current DACA recipients in the United States.
In 2021, the House of Representatives successfully passed the American Dream and Promise Act of 2021 (H.R. 6), which aimed to provide DACA recipients, TPS holders, and DED holders a pathway to citizenship. The U.S. Senate did not act.
As the 117th Congress comes to a close at the end of this lame-duck session, we are calling on both bodies of Congress to support legislation that provides much-needed protection and stability for our society’s young, productive, and undocumented members. Join us in calling on Congress to act before the end of 2022 to support DACA recipients.
