Pope Francis Releases Video Calling to “Care for Creation”

ROME, ITALY - Today Pope Francis released a video asking people of the world to unite with him in prayer for the care of creation. This is the second video of the monthly campaign of the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network, through which Pope Francis calls men and women everywhere to pray in solidarity in response to diverse challenges facing humanity.

Jesuit Networks Convene in Loyola to Address Climate Change, Poverty

From November 16-20, Society of Jesus networks involved in social justice ministry around the world held a "Networking for Justice” meeting in Loyola, Spain to discuss how to combat social and environmental injustice. The final document produced by the meeting recommended strengthening international Jesuit networks in order to address the effects of globalization on the poor as well as climate change. "Today, we feel an urgency to respond to these challenges, working for the inclusion of those that are excluded, experience poverty and to protect the sustainability of nature which is being threatened," said the report. The document also identified "inclusion and sustainability" as two "great tasks of our time."

Four Jesuit Universities Participate in White House Day of Climate Action

On November 19th, four Jesuit universities, Georgetown University, John Carroll University, Santa Clara University and the University of San Francisco, participated in a White House-sponsored day of action to amplify the voice of the higher-ed community in support of a strong climate agreement in Paris that charts a path toward a low-carbon, sustainable future.
