During Pope Francis’s historic visit to the border city of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico this Wednesday, February 17, thousands affiliated with Jesuit institutions and the broader church across the U.S. will echo his call for a compassionate response toward migrants by holding masses, erecting “mock border walls,” and signing a letter to members of Congress.

ISN to Hold National Advocacy Month on Immigration Amid Pope Francis’s Mexico Visit
Next month, thousands across the country will urge their representatives and other lawmakers to pass humane immigration reform during Ignatian Family Advocacy Month (IFAM). Sponsored by the Ignatian Solidarity Network, IFAM will take place over the entire month of February, strategically coinciding with Pope Francis’s first visit to Mexico from February 12-18, when he is expected to visit Mexico’s border with Texas in a display of solidarity with migrants.

Santa Clara University to Premiere XLIII Requiem Honoring Victims of Violence
On January 15, 2016, Santa Clara University, in collaboration with Montalvo Arts Center, will present XLIII: A Contemporary Requiem to honor victims of violence worldwide, including 43 male students from Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, Mexico who were kidnapped in 2014 after traveling to the city of Iguala to stage a protest against perceived government corruption.
