To celebrate its launch as a newly formed 501c3 nonprofit organization, Altagracia Faith and Justice Works, is pleased to announce its Inaugural Celebration on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 7pm at 809 Restaurant & Lounge, 112 Dyckman St. to honor Fr. Robert Abbatiello, O.F.M. Cap., Vicar Provincial Minister of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars of the Province of Saint Mary, and former Pastor of Good Shepherd Church in Inwood, and Yolanda Florez, Manager of Nutrition Education with City Harvest, an organization dedicated to ending hunger in communities throughout NYC through food rescue, distribution, education, and other practical, innovative solutions.

Altagracia Faith and Justice Works is a Catholic, community-based, non-profit organization, which empowers community leaders to put their faith into action and promote social justice through faith formation, leadership development, service, and advocacy opportunities in order to effect concrete local change in Northern Manhattan. Altagracia Faith and Justice Works partners with local parishes to organize Social Justice Ministry teams, and collaborates with other schools, churches, coalitions, and community-based organizations to offer other programs such as the Breaking Bread program and the “Global Thinking, Local Action, Universal Impact (GLU)” Youth Service-learning program.
