The COVID-19 global pandemic has impacted our human family in ways that we do not yet fully understand.

In response to this reality, a network of international Jesuit and Ignatian organizations, including Ignatian Solidarity Network, have come together to create an opportunity to pray as one Ignatian Family on the Vigil of Pentecost, to say, “Come, Holy Spirit, and renew the face of the Earth!”

Join the worldwide Ignatian network on Saturday, May 30th in praying for God’s Spirit to descend powerfully upon us during a half-hour vigil broadcast live at 8 PM EASTERN / 7 PM CENTRAL / 6 PM MOUNTAIN / 5 PM PACIFIC and can be viewed on Facebook, YouTube, or Twitter.

The broadcast will feature voices and scenes from across the world, including from here in the U.S.

I hope you can join me in praying for the needs of our world amid the COVID-19 crisis. We can also pray for the needs of our own country amid the challenges of injustice and racism that we continue to face here in the United States.

As the vigil closes, you will be invited to join people across the world in lighting a candle. Make sure to share a picture of this candle on social media with the hashtag #TogetherAMDG.

Together, we will say “Come Holy Spirit! Renew the Face of the Earth!”
