
Solidarity on Tap is a simple gathering for socializing and social justice. The Ignatian Solidarity Network, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest, Jesuitical, Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, and the Maryknoll Lay Missioners welcome all to Solidarity on Tap l San Diego.
Food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase. All are welcome (21 and over).
Speaker Bios:
Maria Silva: In her role as Director of Community Partnerships with the Mulvaney Center at the University of San Diego (USD), she facilitates collaboration with neighborhood and community stakeholders to co-create campus/community engagement that represents democratic, reciprocal, and equitable partnerships. Partnerships expand throughout San Diego with an emphasis in immigrant communities in Linda Vista, City Heights, Logan Heights, and Tijuana.
Maria also leads the Mulvaney Center’s Border Immersion Program, a space for USD students and faculty to join and better understand the experience of communities along the U.S. / Mexico border. Maria completed a Masters in Migration Studies at the University of San Fransisco, where her research and advocacy focused on Central American asylum seekers.
