The Climate is Changing so Why Aren’t We? Perspectives on Environmental Activism

2020-05-26 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Climate is Changing so Why Aren’t We? Perspectives on Environmental Activism
Tuesday, May 26 3:00PM ET

Young people are at the heart of environmental activism worldwide. Through struggles of resistance and climate strikes, students and youth movements have pushed global leaders to confront an extractivist economy and climate change head-on and prevent future catastrophe. In this livestream, young activists will discuss their experiences on the frontlines of environmental justice and how you can stand in solidarity with them through your actions and environmental advocacy. Our guests will be Ellen Haney, a student sustainability leader at Jesuit Portland High School, Gabrielle Baker, student leader of the Creighton University Climate Movement, and Paisley Sierra, environmental justice advocate and Lakota student at Red Cloud High School.
