We have a different reflection journal for each immersion that is tailored to that experience and the area they are going and the issues they will be discussing. This is an example of one of our journals for an Immersion to rural Appalachian to the Emmaus Farm.

“Experiencing God in the Poor”

Description: This article by a Vincentian, Fr. Theodore Wiesner, is the foundational article for the framework of Vincentians in Action used at DePaul for service and justice work. The article talks about the movements between AWARENESS, DIALOGUE, and SOLIDARITY when encountering the poor. All immersion participants receive this article to read upon their acceptance and through the pre-trip meetings each WAY is explored.
