Join the Ignatian Solidarity Network in calling for immigration reform that:
Dear Jesuit-Educated Members of Congress,
As supporters and members of the Ignatian Solidarity Network, connected to Jesuit institutions nationwide, we call on Congress to pass humane comprehensive immigration reform.
In conjunction with the Jesuit Conference and U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, we welcome President Obama’s announcement of temporary relief from deportation for as many as five million of our community members. We acknowledge that millions more families will continue to suffer under the constant specter of family separation caused by our broken immigration system, which can only be permanently resolved through positive, humane and practical legislation.
This humane legislation would:
We have the opportunity to respond to the urgent needs of the most vulnerable in our society as well as serve all U.S. citizens by growing our economy, strengthening our communities, increasing respect for civil and human rights, and ensuring accountability at our borders.
In the Jesuit spirit of generous service to people in need and a persevering commitment to the common good, we call on you to seek humane comprehensive immigration reform without delay.
Sign up now to connect with the Jesuit network and learn how you can learn, educate, pray, and advocate for justice year-round.
