Service, Community, and Spirituality

You can make a difference in the lives of children, families, and the elderly in Appalachia. Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) volunteers choose from a number of different programs including education, hunger and poverty relief, and volunteer hospitality.

Long-term volunteers make a commitment to one year with an option to apply for an additional year. During that time they honor our program pillars of Service, Community, and Spirituality,

Long-term volunteers are eligible to receive a modest stipend, room and board in one of our volunteer houses (or a living allowance), health insurance, and travel reimbursement. Individuals enrolling in AmeriCorps are also eligible for an Education Award for qualifying student loans and education expenses.
