The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia is a Congregation of

Appointed by the General Council, reporting to the Director of Sponsorship and in collaboration with the other members of the Office, the Mission Integration Coordinator works to ensure that the Mission, Values and Principles for Sponsorship and Chapter directives of the Sisters of Saint Joseph are fully integrated into the sponsored ministries, each of which is accountable to the Congregation for their faithful adherence to the daily living out of the mission.

Essential Functions:

Communications and Administration:

●      Serves as a member of the Office for Sponsorship

●      Collaborates with the other members within the Office to ensure that the mission and charism of the Congregation, as well as its Chapter Directives, are embodied in the sponsored ministries of the Sisters of Saint Joseph

●      Collaborates with Congregational offices/groups such as the Associates and the Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation Office to create experiences and materials to deepen an understanding of mission

●      Assists in communications engagement initiatives of the Office of Sponsorship

●      Promote and facilitate opportunities for members of the Congregation to serve and actively participate in Sponsored Ministries to elevate mission effectiveness

●      Serve as co-editor of the Sponsorship Manual

●      Participation in professional development opportunities and networking to reflect best practice in mission integration.

●      Maintains annual budget for formation (Spirits on Fire, Board Orientation, Professional Memberships)

Boards & Governance:

●      Provides a supportive presence and serves as a resource to the administration at each sponsored ministry and to congregational Internal Services Partners in Mission

●      Provides mission resources and create prayer experiences/materials for all ministry boards.

●      In collaboration with the Sponsorship Coordinator create and execute annual board orientation

●      Serve as an ex-officio member of the board  of SSJ Sponsored retreat centers and represent the Sponsorship office on additional boards as needed

Mission Formation and Effectiveness

●      Collaborates with the Sponsorship Coordinator to design and implement a core formation process for Executive Leaders and Board members of sponsored ministries

●      Collaborates with colleagues in the Office of Sponsorship on planning and execution of fall and spring Sponsored Ministry Leadership Gatherings to promote collaboration and fellowship.

●      Provides ongoing formation experiences about the history, mission, values and  spirituality of the Sisters of Saint Joseph  for the partners in mission at each ministry site

●      Collaborates and meets regularly with the Mission and Ministry Offices of each educational Sponsored Ministry.

●      Facilitates tours of and training in the Heritage Room and Motherhouse Chapel

●      Coordinates annual participation in the national CSSJ “Spirits on Fire” program for partners in mission and plans and executes local networking of SOF participants.

●      Plans an annual Pilgrimage to Le Puy, France in conjunction with the Leadership Council

●      Assists and supports ministries in generating their own plans/programs for mission integration

●      Assists in the creation of process and procedures to assess mission effectiveness

●      Identifies opportunities for collaboration between sponsored ministries, including service and outreach

●      Promotes integration of Congregation mission priorities and corporate stances within the activities, curriculum, and mission expression efforts of the sponsored ministries

●      Assists ministries with deepening spirituality among their constituencies

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.


●      Experience working in an SSJ Sponsored Ministry preferred

●      Experience in campus ministry desirable

●      Strong organizational skills

●      Creative writing and ability to develop prayer experiences

●      Ability to delegate
