THE DIRECTOR OF CAMPUS MINISTRY is responsible for spiritual formation at Saint Peter’s Preparatory School and works directly with the principal to develop and administer the spiritual and service programs at Prep.  The director, along with the president and principal, helps to implement the mission of the school as a Jesuit apostolate. The director works closely with the members of the religious education department and other faculty in implementing programs, and the person in this role consults with members of the guidance department in extending pastoral care to students.  The director of campus ministry reports to the principal.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the campus ministry staff 
  • Coordinate Prep’s liturgical celebrations, including school and community Masses
  • Coordinate a program of Reconciliation services and other events according to 

the liturgical calendar (i.e. Advent and Lent programming, etc.)

  • Coordinate the retreat program, including:  the IgNite freshman retreat, the 

sophomore retreat, Emmaus, and Kairos

  • Organize and train a team of students and faculty who will be leaders

for the retreat program and other campus ministry initiatives

  • Select and train Eucharistic Ministers from the student body and the faculty, and work with them 

throughout the year

  • Provide spiritual direction and counseling as a follow-up to the retreat experiences, including facilitation of a CLC program.
  • Provide pastoral counseling to students, faculty and staff
  • Coordinate Prep’s participation in external justice and ministry events (Ignatian Family 

Teach-In, World Youth Day, province and archdiocesan events, etc) 

  • Acts as the contact person with the Province Director of Vocations and the Archdiocesan Vocation 

Office and serves as the coordinator of vocations programming in the school

  • Supervise liturgical spaces and supplies
  • Supervise campus ministry staff and related programs, including Alumni Service Corps and community outreach 
  • Work with members of the campus ministry department to develop and implement a Christian Service program that educates students for a faith that does justice
  • Work with a team of students and faculty/staff to plan and implement annual Arrupe Week
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal
