Seeking Our Next Director of Campus Ministry
John Carroll University is pleased to announce the opening for the position of Director of Campus Ministry. We are actively seeking the next energetic, passionate and experienced leader who can help today’s students find God in all things, promote a faith that does justice, and foster a deep sense of belonging in our university community. As the Director of Campus Ministry, you will lead a talented Campus Ministry team consisting of professionals, graduate assistants, and student interns. You will continue the innovative work that is already underway and refine an emerging vision and strategic plan for inclusive ministerial outreach and engagement of Catholics, other Christians, and people of all faiths and spiritualities.
As part of the Division of Mission & Identity, Campus Ministry sits at the heart of the University’s work of forming people for and with others who have the knowledge, character, and spirituality to lead and serve in the community and across the world. As Director, you will supervise and coordinate all Campus Ministry programs and activities, including: liturgical celebrations, small faith-sharing groups, retreats, immersion trips, interfaith work, social media outreach, and justice initiatives such fair trade and sustainability efforts. You will collaborate regularly with the Jesuit Community, nearby Gesu Parish, and the Diocese of Cleveland. You will work with engaged campus partners, including Liturgical Music and Musical Arts, Theology and Religious Studies, The Catholic Studies Institute, The Ignatian Spirituality Institute, Residence Life, The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion, The Center for Service-Learning and Social Action, and Athletics. In the past year, such collaborations have resulted in an emerging sports chaplaincy program, a new Interfaith Commons and new Interfaith Prayer Room, innovative social media outreach, yoga and reflection, and expanded retreat offerings.
