JRS/USA Gifts Officer

Do you watch the news and wonder, “How can I help, where can I contribute?” This is a great opportunity for someone with fundraising experience to help those in need and work with a collaborative, supportive, and passionate team supporting essential programs for refugees around the world. Today there are more than 100 million refugees and internally displaced people worldwide, the highest level ever recorded.
The Gift Officer is a full-time position, supporting the functions of the JRS/USA Development team through direct solicitation of individuals in support of specific education/livelihoods and mental health programs for refugees worldwide. This position reports to the Director of Development.
Essential Duty #1: Portfolio Management: 65%
· Donor Portfolio Management & Building- Manage and build a portfolio of 75+ active and prospective mid-level individual donors for annual gifts support an annual portfolio.
· Expand New Donor Opportunities and help build relationships with Catholic religious congregations for grant funding ($10,000) supporting refugee programs.
· Donor Prospecting- Research and qualify prospective donors via wealth screening tools, phone calls, and in-person conversations.
· Creation of Stewardship Materials- Create stewardship materials by working with programmatic colleagues and design colleagues to donor reports,email newsletters, and other collateral as needed
Essential Duty #2: Institutional Cultivation, Strategy, and Solicitation: 35%
· Develop and Pitch Proposals- Build a pipeline and develop and pitch proposals for potential grant funders and individual donors prospects who have connections to Catholic organizations and support refugees initiatives.
· Project Reporting- Submit periodic progress and final project reports to fulfill donor compliance expectations.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree.
· Three to five years of Fundraising/Advancement experience with an emphasis on donor stewardship, gift acquisition and/or comparable professional experience.
· Proven ability to set goals strategically and oversee execution and a proven track record of success in cultivating, soliciting, and closing mid-level gifts.
· Familiarity with Catholic organizations and/or international aid organizations helpful experience
· Experience with grant writing and proposals is a strong plus.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills.
· The ability to develop and cultivate on an ongoing basis positive relationship with colleagues, donors, and prospective donors.
· Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and advancement software – Salesforce experience is a plus.
Work schedule:
Telework position 2-3 days a week in office.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
