L’Arche Mobile
A Team Member works under the supervision of the Community Leadership Team and the assigned House Coordinators, and works collaboratively with other Team Members in fostering an environment that is conducive to the stability and growth of each Core Member.



High School graduate, General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
Eighteen (18) years of age or older
Willingness to work with people with disabilities
Willingness to participate in a diverse community life of ability, culture, race, nationality, religion, age
Valid government issued photo identification
Clear E-verification Record for employed Team Members
1-step Tuberculosis (TB) test, drug screen, criminal background and sexual offender check
Ability to be certified in CPR, First Aid, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)
To be able to drive community vehicles or with core members, valid proof of car insurance with a clear driving record check (with a maximum of 2 incidents in the last 3 years) is required

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Is familiar with and accepts the L’Arche Charter and the International Mission and Identity Statement
Is familiar with and follows L’Arche Mobile Policy and Procedure Book, including but not limited to: dress code, cell phone usage, time off requests, etc.
Willingness and ability to meet and support the physical and emotional needs of the core members, working collaboratively with others to ensure the proper care of the individual
Maintaining a calming presence in the home
Assists Core Members in their personal care routines and behavior routines as needed
Meeting the special dietary, medical, therapy, or personal routines of each Core Member
Completing all necessary documentation for all Treatment, Behavior, Long-Range Plan, and other supports of each Core Member, as well as House Log communication, Time Sheets, and other necessary documentation required to meet the standards of L’Arche and the State of Alabama
Assists Core Members in all their projects, personal goals, and outside activities, to ensure their participation up to the level of their ability, as well as ensure their safety in the given task or activity
Welcoming and interacting with all guests, visitors and volunteers; as well as representing L’Arche at public events and other miscellaneous events involving L’Arche Mobile
Ability to accompany and transport core members on outside activities, as a team or independently
Attending and participating in all appropriate meetings, including but not limited to: Team Meetings, Mandatory Meetings, Psychological Consults, Reflections, Formations, Retreats, and In-Services
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, within submitted availability, to meet the various and changing needs of the Core Members, home, and community life, which requires team work for 24-hour care
Regular attendance and punctuality; notifying the appropriate Coordinators if a conflict arises
Following the house routine appropriately to meet the needs of the house including but not limited to: personal and behavior routines, cooking, cleaning, medicine, etc.; and able to ask for help when needed if unable to fulfill routine assignments or in case of emergency
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in communicating opinions and ideas for planning and organization of individual and/or house activities
Being trained as a driver and certified to give medications, if qualifications are met and approved
Remaining flexible and open to the ever-changing needs of the community
