Campus Minister (1 full time opening)
This role exists to support and implement the Mission of Magnificat High School. The Campus MinsiterMinister supports the faith formation of students through the four dimensions of Campus Ministry: Prayer and Liturgical Life, Retreats, Service, and Social Justice.

This full time, school year45 week position is eligible for the medical, dental, and vision health plans.

Reports to:  Director of Campus Ministry

Position Summary:

The Campus Minister works collaboratively as a team member to support the faith formation of students through the Campus Ministry programs in Prayer and Liturgical life, Retreats, Service and Social Justice.

Prayer and Liturgical Life focus:

  • Mentors students in their spiritual development.
  • Assists in developing, sustaining, and leading all school prayer services and liturgies.
  • Assists in developing, sustaining, and leading the Immersion Retreat program.
  • Assists in developing, sustaining, and leading the Advent and Lenten school-wide educational and outreach projects.

Retreat focus:

  • Assists in planning, coordinating and leading retreats for students.
  • Prepares and mentors students and adults for leadership roles in the retreat program.
  • Assists in developing, sustaining, and leading the Immersion Retreat program.

Service focus:

  • Plans and coordinates meaningful relationship-based service opportunities that engage and involve students.
  • Prepares and mentors students and adults for their roles in the service program.
  • Prepares, schedules, and facilitates processing sessions for students participating in service opportunities.
  • Serves as liaison between Magnificat and the service sites and social outreach agencies with whom Magnificat collaborates.
  • Communicates with students, faculty and staff, administration, parents, and outside agencies about service opportunities.

Social Justice focus:

  • Promotes education and coordinates initiatives about social justice issues through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching.
  • Serves as a representative of Magnificat High School on the Diocesan-wide initiative Catholic Schools for Peace and Justice.

Assists in developing, sustaining, and leading the Advent and Lenten school-wide educational and outreach projects.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Religious Studies or related field.
  • Experience in campus ministry, volunteer ministry, Catholic institution/organization, or social services field.
  • Must be a practicing Catholic who witnesses to the Catholic faith and models Catholic values.
  • Ability to care for the holistic development of students.
  • Ability and commitment to working collaboratively as a member of the Campus Ministry Department and the Magnificat community.
  • Grounded in Catholic theology and praxis with an understanding of the application of theology and praxis.
  • Pastoral approach to ministry with adolescent girls.
  • Superior interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience.
  • Must be open to growth and flexible.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Docs.
  • Strong belief in, and respect for, the Mission of Magnificat High School; personal knowledge of the school a plus.
  • Ability to work extended days, evenings, and weekends periodically, as needed.
