Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate Companion Groups

Develop Peer-Led Small Group Ministry

Develop a ministry of peer-led small groups that fosters spiritual formation within the context of community where students share their faith, feel authentic belonging, and discern their call of discipleship.
Create Companion Group resources for students to utilize that apply the richness of the Catholic Spiritual Tradition to the lived experience of young adults.
Recruit and maintain Companion Group leaders who engage in ongoing formation on the spiritual accompaniment of their peers and their own spiritual growth.
Design models of outreach and partnerships within University Ministry and across the university that get students consistently engaged with this ministry.
Collaborate with members of the University Ministry team to integrate Companion Groups with other ministries.
Coordinate Direct Service and Spirituality Ministry

Develop a ministry rooted in direct service and spiritual formation that offers students the opportunity to engage in meaningful direct service within San Diego accompanied by critical theological reflection of their experiences.

Connect students to the greater San Diego community through weekly service and spiritual formation that makes Catholic Social Teaching a lived spiritual practice.
Foster strong relationships  with community partners in San Diego where students can participate in meaningful service and engage in authentic encounters with the greater San Diego Community.
Facilitate dialogue on the intersection of faith and justice.
Develop a praxis of reflection where students contemplate how their experience of service is connected to their spiritual life and their call to contribute to the common good and the cultivation of a just society.
Design models of outreach and partnerships within University Ministry and across the university that get students consistently engaged with this ministry.
Collaborate with members of the University Ministry team to integrate Service and Spirituality Ministry  with ongoing ministries.
Communicate, coordinate and collaborate with other units and offices on campus that are focused on community engagement.
Collaborate with other UM staff on other ministries; serve on university committees, assist on retreats and execute other duties as assigned.
