For Humane Migration Policies
Over the course of Lent, the Ignatian Solidarity Network invites you to join us as we stand in solidarity with our migrant sisters and brothers. We will provide opportunities for you and your community to accompany migrants in prayer, fasting and action.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Throughout this challenge we will learn about the policies affecting migration, hear stories from migrants, gain the knowledge and skills to engage in advocacy, and pray together to better embody a church that welcomes, protects, promotes, and integrates the stranger in our midst.
By Feb 21:
Set a goal for this challenge. How will you fast for migration?
ISN will provide background information and federal policy asks for the issue areas of migration.
Feb 27 - March 3:
Write letters focused on migration issues to state representatives. By the end of the week mail your letters to your representatives.
ISN will provide information on how to advocate at the local and state level for migration policy through a webinar.
March 13 - 17:
Write and send postcards focused on migration policies to federal, state and other governmental agencies.
ISN invites you to publicly witness, as migrants and those at the border share their stories on migration.
Re-examine your goal that you set at the beginning of lent. Decide on continued action to meet your goal.
We will take time to end our Lenten Migration Challenge with a prayer.
