TEXT TO COPY:
I just took the 6-minute Ignatian Advocacy Challenge to join the Jesuit network in standing with refugees and immigrants, and I’m challenging [FRIEND 1], [FRIEND 2] and [FRIEND 3] to join me! #AMDG #NoBanNoWall #IggyAdvocacyChallenge
How to take the challenge:
(30 Seconds): Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard to be connected to your Congresspersons’ D.C. offices. You’ll need to know your Congresspersons’ names.
SWITCHBOARD: (202) 224-3121
(5 minutes): Let all three of your Congresspersons know you oppose President Trump’s Executive Orders on immigration and refugees. You can write your own script or use this one:
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent of [Senator/Representative ______] in [CITY]. I’m calling today because I oppose President Trump’s Executive Orders on immigration and refugees. As a [Catholic/Person of Faith], I believe in welcoming persecuted families and individuals to the U.S., regardless of their faith, and in creating humane immigration policies that respect human rights and family unity. Could you tell me the Congressperson’s stances on the immigration and refugee Executive Orders? [Wait for response.] Please let the Congressperson know that I oppose them and encourage [him/her] to work towards reversing them as soon as possible. Thanks.
(30 seconds): Take a post-call video, and challenge 3 friends to join you!
Copy and paste this text to a new post, add your video, and tag the 3 friends you’ve challenged.
