The following prayer is written by then-Fr. Ken Untener and often attributed to the story of Archbishop Oscar Romero because they summarize his ministry and commitment to the people of El Salvador and to Christ.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n It helps, now and then, to step back and take a long view.<\/p>\n The kingdom is not only beyond our efforts, it is even beyond our vision.<\/p>\n We accomplish in our lifetime only a tiny fraction of the magnificent No statement says all that could be said.<\/p>\n No prayer fully expresses our faith.<\/p>\n No confession brings perfection.<\/p>\n
\nenterprise that is God’s work. Nothing we do is complete, which is a way of
\nsaying that the Kingdom always lies beyond us.<\/p>\n
