Elimination of U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program “Against the Principles We Have as a Nation” Says Chair of USCCB Committee on Migration

Thursday it was reported that the Trump Administration is considering “zeroing out” the refugee resettlement program. This would effectively put an end, at least temporarily, to the United States resettling those fleeing persecution from countries overseas.
Most Reverend Joe S. Vásquez, Bishop of Austin, Texas and chair of the of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Migration, issued the following statement:
