This presentation will discuss the development and implementation of an 8-day silent retreat that was held the summer of 2021. This retreat was created by the Jesuit Anti Racism Sodality (JARS) and utilized the Spiritual Exercises in concert with Black Spirituals and Black Sacred Music to form a retreat that invited retreatants to spend time with the God of us all. Throughout the retreat, optional talks, films, and other supplemental prayer sources illustrated the Black experience to enrich graces of each day and served as guides for the day’s prayers and reflections.
