Catholic Climate Covenant seeks a Program Manager for Young Adult Mobilization. This program will organize and galvanize Catholic young adults across the United States who feel called to care for creation and our most vulnerable neighbors and to act on climate change in concert with the teachings of the Catholic faith.  The manager will coordinate and collaborate with other Catholic organizations to ensure success of the program, work under the supervision of the Executive Director, and collaborate closely with other Covenant staff.
Areas of Responsibility
Program Development and Management
Resource dioceses, parishes, and other organizations interested in implementing Wholemakers, a young adult small group curricular program focused on care for creation and integral ecology and the Integral Ecology Retreats program.
Shepherd the Wholemakers Program through its pilot phase in Fall 2022 for its launch in Spring 2023.
Endeavor to launch the Common Home Corps, a young adult climate action cohort engaged in organizing on creation care and climate issues at the local, state, and national levels.
Outreach and Engagement
Identify, reach out to, engage, and/or collaborate with national, diocesan, and regional young adult organizations in the U.S. which are predisposed to work on these issues consistent with Church teaching and approaches.
Develop, promote, and implement Covenant programs and resources that enable Catholic young adults to act, tailored to their interests and circumstances.
Reach out to and engage representatives of relevant non-Catholic institutions to help design, support and collaborate on these efforts.
Work to establish and convene an advisory group composed of Catholic young adults and representatives of organizations ministering to young adults.
Bring the advice, collaboration, and voices of young adults to the Covenant’s advocacy efforts.
Leadership
Represent the Covenant’s Young Adult Mobilization Program in public, through presentations, articles, interviews, social media, and other forms of expression.
Communications, Digital Media and Database Management
In collaboration with the Director of Communications and the Social Media Manager, create and manage the program’s design and content on the Covenant’s website and social media.
In collaboration with the Database Manager, collect, input, and manage data related to the program in applicable Covenant systems and databases.
Write and manage the monthly Young Adult Mobilization newsletter.
Evaluation and Refinement
Analyze, document, and refine the young adult programs to:
Ensure that the programs meet the needs of end users and organizational partners and receive continued support;
Build momentum to galvanize the passion and voices of young adults in the U.S. Catholic community who wish to express their care for creation and our neighbors and desire for climate solutions; and
Inspire young adults to visit with their pastors and other Catholic leaders, urging them to take seriously the Catholic creation care vision.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate would have:
Experience in faith-based community organizing, young adult ministry, program development and management, and/or faith-based or environmental advocacy.
Experience in implementing significant and complex projects from start to finish.
An understanding of the realities facing young adults in diverse U.S. contexts, particularly across Catholic communities.
Knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching, environmental issues, and climate change.
A comfort with and openness to working within Catholic organizations and institutions.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Excellent communicator, strategic thinker, and relationship builder.
Additional Information
While Catholic Climate Covenant is based in Washington, DC, remote work will be considered.
Salary and benefits package is commensurate with experience.
Occasional travel will be required.
