New Ways Ministry, a 47-year Catholic outreach that educates and advocates for equity, inclusion, and justice for LGBTQ+ persons, seeks a full-time Digital Communications and Programs Coordinator.

Description of Position

The Digital Communications and Programs Coordinator will assist with planning and implementation of educational and spiritual programs for Catholic pastoral workers, parents, and LGBTQ+ people, particularly online events and resources. The Coordinator has three primary areas of responsibility:

Digital Communications: The Coordinator works primarily with the Associate Director to help boost NWM’s online presence and ability to share information, resources, and events. Tasks include:

  • Posting updates to existing social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Threads), as well as interacting with constituents on these platforms and ensuring timely responses to direct messages
  • Creating a distribution calendar for and drafting of regular emails through Constant Contact
  • Strategizing for and developing a podcast and exploring the organization’s possible presence on TikTok and YouTube

Virtual Programming: The Coordinator will help develop and implement virtual webinars, workshops, spirituality programs, and other events consistent with NWM’s educational mission. Tasks include:

  • Collaborating to improve existing programs and develop new ones
  • Organizing event logistics, including registration, speaker coordination, technical support on Zoom
  • Developing program content, including prayer/spirituality aspects and small group discussions
  • Creating a plan for event promotion

Website Development: The Coordinator collaborates with staff to develop resources on NWM’s website, as well as continually updating existing features. The Coordinator will help with plans for an upcoming website renovation.

Other Tasks: NWM staff collaborate in a variety of ways. All staff members carry out operations-related tasks, like database management, mailings, or donation processing. The position may lead to in-person programmatic work, too, if mutually agreeable.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Catholic teachings, practices, and culture, particularly related to LGBTQ+ issues and church reform/renewal, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, communications, marketing, or related fields required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with social media channels for nonprofit use.
  • Professional knowledge of Constant Contact required.
  • Knowledge of Later, WordPress, Little Green or similar CRM preferred.
  • Proven ability for graphic design. Knowledge of Canva preferred.
  • Knowledge of Zoom for hosting both meetings and webinars.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Knowledge of video editing, particularly for social media preferred.
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and self-motivation
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Location: This position is remote.

Compensation: $60,000 – $65,000, plus health insurance and other benefits.
